When asking whether society is leading technology, or if technology is leading society, I would have to say that society is being lead by technology. Reason being that young kids rarely go outside to play anymore. Childhood is experienced behind a digital medium like, an iPad playing games they have downloaded off their app store. Not many kids understand the importance of running outside when their homework is done after school. They seem to be more interested in how much storage they have left in their iCloud. Deleting apps day by day to maintain their focus of doing nothing active. Most people feel incomplete if they are away from their phones for more than an hour. They almost feel as if they will miss something. It seems like this next generation lacks substance, it's like all the things that make us human are gradually diminishing. Communication skills are not being used effectively, we would rather text our problems rather than talk them out over the phone. So to answer your question thoroughly, I do whole-heartedly believe that society is being lead by technology, our future is being lead by technology.
